The Poe Museum

Located in Richmond, Virginia, the Poe Museum commemorates the life and works of Edgar Allan Poe, one of America's most influential writers. Although Poe never lived in the museum's building, the site holds significance due to its proximity to locations associated with his life, including his childhood homes and places of employment. The museum is housed in the Old Stone House, Richmond's oldest residential building, dating back to circa 1740.

The museum boasts one of the world's largest collections of Poe artifacts, including manuscripts, letters, first editions, and personal belongings. Notable items include Poe's childhood bed, his sister's piano, and a lock of his hair.

Visitors can explore exhibits detailing Poe's early life, literary career, and mysterious death. The museum also features the Enchanted Garden, inspired by Poe's poem 'To One in Paradise,' providing a serene space amidst the historical artifacts.
