Hidden within the cliffs of Gellért Hill, the Cave Church (Sziklatemplom) offers a fascinating blend of natural beauty and spiritual history. Originally inhabited by a hermit monk who used the natural thermal waters for healing, the cave was transformed into a chapel by Pauline monks in the 1920s. During World War II, it served as a field hospital. In 1951, the Communist regime sealed the church, imprisoning the monks. It wasn't until 1989 that the church was reopened, and it now stands as a symbol of resilience and faith.
