The Banshee Labyrinth
The Banshee Labyrinth is Scotland’s most haunted pub, built over the eerie Edinburgh Vaults and home to terrifying paranormal activity.
Located in the heart of Edinburgh, The Banshee Labyrinth is no ordinary pub. Known as 'Scotland’s most haunted bar,' it sits on top of the infamous Edinburgh Vaults—one of the most paranormally active locations in the world.
Once part of the underground vault system where criminals, body snatchers, and the poorest of Edinburgh’s citizens lived, the pub carries a dark and sinister history. Legend has it that before the pub was even opened, construction workers heard an ear-piercing, blood-curdling scream from an unseen entity. The next day, one of the workers mysteriously died, leading to the name 'Banshee Labyrinth.'
Since then, countless visitors and staff have reported terrifying paranormal experiences. Poltergeist activity is common—glasses smash on their own, objects move mysteriously, and unseen hands grab at patrons. Ghostly figures have been spotted wandering the hallways, and some guests have been overcome with feelings of dread and nausea when stepping into certain rooms.
The pub embraces its terrifying reputation, offering guests a gothic and horror-themed atmosphere with eerie décor, horror movie screenings, and a rich history of the supernatural.
