Arnolds Kannibalmuseum

Arnolds Kannibalmuseum is housed in a converted hen house on the outskirts of the micronation “Republiken Önneköp” in Hörby, Skåne. Founded by adventurer Arnold Wernersson—who legally changed his title to “Arnold the Adventurer”—the museum showcases his lifelong fascination with cannibalism and tribal culture.

The cramped, chaotic collection overflows with weapons used by cannibal tribes, voodoo dolls, shrunken heads, relics from pygmy groups, and odd souvenirs like a bull penis. Each object is accompanied by Arnold’s vivid stories of travel to over 150 countries—some so wild, it’s hard to tell fact from legend. The museum’s ambiance is simultaneously eerie and intimate: a personal cabinet of curiosities with undeniable dark-tourism allure.

Visits are strictly by appointment—Arnold himself offers guided tours that can stretch for hours, weaving myth and memoir amidst dusty artifacts. It’s less about polished display and more an immersive performance—where the curator is the star and each oddity leads down another rabbit hole of storytelling.
