Aifur

Aifur is not just a restaurant—it’s an immersive Viking Age experience tucked into the winding alleys of Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s historic old town. Named after a legendary Viking ship, Aifur transports guests into a meticulously recreated Norse hall where every detail, from the wooden benches and shields on the walls to the drinking horns and menu items, is inspired by 9th–11th century Scandinavia. The restaurant is owned by Martin Erikson, better known as E-Type, who is a Swedish Eurodance musician and Viking aficionado.

The atmosphere is raucous and welcoming. Guests are announced loudly by name and hometown as they enter, drawing applause and cheers from other diners. Staff in period clothing serve mead, ale, and hearty dishes based on archaeological and historical sources—think wild boar sausage, roasted root vegetables, and lamb shank with honey-glazed cabbage.
